Olympics: Hong Kong badminton player Wong Wing-Ki is through to the knockout stages of the men's singles event. He overcame France's Brice Leverdez 21-11, 21-16 for his second win in a row. Wong was strong with his smashes and got on a 11-2 run in the first set.
Wong said he knew the Frenchman would make mistakes under pressure and all he had to do was to control tempo.
Wong beat China's "Super Dan" Lin Dan at the Denmark Open last year. He said he's confident about staging another upset in the Olympics against third-seed Chen Long, his next opponent. Wong said all the pressure will be on Chen, not him.
Giving some appreciation to the Hong Kong athletes, too!!
