Vivian Hsu casually admits to bulimia; in bizarro world of Chinese media, no one even cares

So Vivian Hsu is doing promotion for the 2010 movie "Hot Summer Days" (全城熱戀).

I'll translate the relevant section from this Sina article.

Wearing a sexy black form-fitting outfit, Vivian Hsu plays a character named "Wasabi", a passionate rich woman. Her love interest "Soy Sauce" is played by Daniel Wu.

Regarding the experience of playing a rich woman, Vivian laughed and said she had never had such good treatment. "The sushi store in the film is one opened by the director and Daniel Wu. The sushi there is delicious. Since I"m playing a rich woman, every day I get to wear beautiful clothes and go eat delicious sushi, and then afterwards I get to live in a 5-star hotel. But because I'm afraid of getting fat, the second the director yells cut, I go throw up the sushi. I truly eat too much.

At this, the investment boss Mr. Fang sitting nearby suddenly saw the light and said, "No wonder the expenses have been so high!"

Emphasis mine. The article goes sailing right by this and starts to natter on about Daniel and Vivian's kissing scenes and I'm going "Back the HELL up now, this is a major star, someone a lot of girls look up to, she treats bulimia like a good weight loss strategy, and NOBODY CARES???"

I don't understand Chinese media at all.

A blurry photograph of a star having some kind of consensual romantic relationship with another adult: OMG SCANDAL MAYHEM THINK OF THE CHILDREN YOU SLUT

A star blithely says she throws up to stay thin: *crickets*

Karen Mok changes mind - Releasing album to fight for "Golden Melody Award"

After releasing an album "L!VE is… KAREN MOK" in 2007 and getting the following year's Golden Melody Best Album award, Karen Mok once grandly promised that she will not be releasing a hardcopy album in the future anymore, scaring all her supportive fans. This year in June, she released a digital album "Aftertaste (回蔚)" online and the response was fantastic, though fans felt that it was a great pity there wasn't an album to purchase. She has thus had a change of mind and contracted with Universal Music Company yesterday to release the album version of "Aftertaste (回蔚)"

Yesterday, Karen Mok held a press conference in Hong Kong, to announce her grand entrance into the new company and her plans on releasing a hardcopy album of "Aftertaste". She also revealed that she'll be holding a concert soon. Her entrance into the press conference venue yesterday was just like the arrival of a queen, though she laughed and said that she has never thought about being the queen or first lady (in the music industry).

When the Taiwan media expressed that she'll still be eligible to enter in the "Golden Melody Award", Karen happily shouted "Really?"
She's eager to personally meet her Taiwan fans too and cheekily said "I miss everyone!"

eeMedia Family Winter MV pictures Part 2

Li Yuanxi, Liu Xijun, and Zheng Shuang are the second group to film for the eeMedia family MV

So apparently the “Winter/New Years” MV will actually have most of the eeMedia family but they’re being filmed separately, because it’s easier to coordinate. And eeMedia is really impressing me with how well-coordinated it’s become. Last year was a lot of firsts for the company and it showed. The previous MV was cute, but with stock outfits and everyone looked more tired than happy. The New Years concert also turned out messy. But this year everything in Long Danni’s plan for the company seems to have just about fallen into place and hopefully this year the New Years concert will be better too.

Continuing the tradition from the last post, have a bit of Top Combine: new individual pics. Their album release date is confirmed as Dec. 13th, which is also coincidentally, Kimi Qiao Renliang’s album release date. He also released new album pics. The boys aren’t trying to spread out at all are they?
