★ANNOUNCEMENTS!

We now have 906 members, 249 more than last week, and 975 watchers, who will hopefully join up someday soon. :) C'mon in and introduce yourself, peeps!

As everyone probably knows, we made spotlight this week, thus the huge (for us) jump in membership. Everything has gone smoothly so far and a huge thanks to all those that must have spammed LJ for this to happen. Thank you. :)

We have both a Twitter and a Last FM group. Go follow or join. Especially the Last FM group, lol. Even though, yes, I know, no one knows the actual point of said groups.

This is a trial FFA time. The 2PM PST and 10AM PST times tied, so I'm going to do one this week and the other one the next week. The one with the most participation will become the official FFA time and I will post all the time zones in the sidebar.

Finally, I need a mod. :| At this time, just one for post approval purposes. The criteria are fairly simple.

1.Be in a time zone other than mine. I.e. NOT Pacific Standard Time, which is the West coast of the US basically.
2.Be a semi-active member. It won't do me any good if you don't hang out around here a lot. Plus, it will give me an idea if you have the judgment to approve posts. Not that we've had many rejections. Maybe one? lol
3.Please PM me, lem0nlight , if you're interested and fit those criteria. Thanks. :)

SJ-M will hold their first Taiwan fan meet in December!

Busy with promotions for their first mini album SUPER GIRL, popular South Korean boyband Super Junior-M made an appearance in Taiwan last night in the form of a video clip announcing their schedule for fan meets on the 5th and 6th of December. This will be a prelude to Super Junior’s Taiwan stop of their SUPER SHOW 2 Live Tour.

SJ-M had promised when they had first heard about their top three ranking on the charts in Taiwan, to “definitely come to Taiwan for promotions, and thank the fans that love us personally”. Yesterday, SM Entertainment/AVEX Taiwan had held a "SUPER GIRL Behind-the-scenes Footage Event", and led by leader Han Geng, the seven members of SJ-M announced the details of their fan meets, which will be held in the Taipei International Convention Centre, via a video clip.

Member Zhoumi has gone to the extent of passing up the chance to celebrate his parents’ wedding anniversary on the 6th of December, just for the fans.

Apart from being in close proximity with the fans, the content of the SJ-M fan meets can be compared to that of a mini concert and each member will have a solo act.

Tickets for the SJ-M First Fan Party in Taipei will start selling on the 14th at noon, via Era Ticket.

Angela Zhang bids for Michael Jackson vinyl record, snatched away by Jackie Chan for $1.57 million

For her beloved Michael Jackson vinyl record, Angela Zhnag would not give up even for famous showbiz veteran Jackie Chan! Recently, the two of them were intensely bidding for an autographed MJ vinyl record, in the end the bid shot up to a crazy $330,000 RMB (approx $1.57 million NTD).

On November 2, Angela Zhang flew over to Shanghai to sing "Invisible Wings" for the "2009 Gary Player Invitational Event" which was a charity function in support of orphans suffering from AIDS. Furthermore, she participated in a charity auction together with Jackie Chan, Wilber Pan, JJ Lin and other artists, all giving their compassion. Unexpectedly, Jackie Chan and Angela Zhang became bidding opponents.

At the function, JJ Lin was in charge of auctioning a limited edition autographed Jackson vinyl record at the opening bid of $100,000 RMB. Angela Zhang who has always seen Michael Jackson as her idol, immediately started to bid. Who knew that Jackie Chan would follow, shouting prices with a determined expression. The two of them consecutively bidded 4-5 times, competing fiercely; in the end Jackie Chan was the highest bidder as $330,000 RMB, making Angela feel a bit disappointed.

Angela who lost the bid, sang her signature comforting song "Invisible Wings" at the function and suddenly asked Jackie Chan to come onstage to sing with her. He assertively went onstage and although he wasn't very familiar with the lyrics, he still happily hummed along. This was their first duet together and although this had not been rehearsed before, they had great tacit understanding and the atmosphere of the scene reached its peak.

Ariel Lin travels abroad, smart like Huang Rong

When Ariel Lin goes abroad for vacation, she’s like Jin Yong’s Huang Rong – clever and eccentric. Aside from being fully equipped to protect herself, she’s also doesn’t act like a tourist, telling backpackers: “If you want to look at your map, always use a magazine as a cover, so people won’t see [that you’re a tourist].”

Ariel on average accepts two dramas a year. She’s currently preparing for a stage play. Because the body (physical) movements in the play are highlyg demanding, her body is aching all over and she usually doesn’t have enough sleep. Good thing is she normally has very good, healthy habits, so she still appears to be in high spirits.

She hasn’t had time to go abroad lately, so she relies on watching movies to release the pressure at work. Ariel laughed and said: “Whenever I watch an horror movie I start fantasizing. Since watching the movie “Hostel”, I don’t dare travel alone!”

Tang Wei's back bitches!

Well ... according to the article it's Tang "Wei-wei".

By Lee Hyo-won
Staff Reporter

South Korean actor Hyun Bin and Chinese screen beauty Tang Wei-wei are set to appear in ``Manchu'' (working title), which will go into production at the end of the month in the United States, Boram Entertainment and M&FC announced Friday.

The ``My Lovely Samsoon'' star will play the role of a man on the run who falls in love with a woman who is on special leave from prison, to be played by Tang, who is best-known as the heroine of Ang Lee's epic romance ``Lust, Caution.''

The Korea-U.S. joint project ― Korea's Boram Entertainment and M&FC and the Unites States' North by Northwest ― is a remake of the 1966 masterpiece ``Full Autumn'' (Manchu) by Lee Man-hee. Kim Tae-yong, the award-winning director of ``Family Ties,'' will helm the project.

The movie will be ``a modern interpretation'' of the classic movie and will be set in the United States, said the producers in a statement. It is slated for theatrical release next year.

Oooer exciting. Does this mean that she's no longer banned?

Jacky Xue Begins "My Athena" Promotions

With a live concert performance, three album releases, and numerous musical awards under his belt, 26-year old mainland Chinese singer Jacky Xue (薛之謙) is not exactly a stranger to the music scene. In preparation for a late November release of his fourth album, Jacky Xue started promotions for a new single titled “My Athena”.

The new single, which has a slightly mellow dance club feel to it, contrasts quite a bit from his previous single promoted in September titled “Incomplete Song”, a much more ballad tune that was still holding in the top ten in last week’s Baidu Chinese Music Charts. The different styles of Jacky’s two songs released in this half of the year gives a glimpse the variety that Jacky says that he hopes to aim for in his upcoming album.
