Race car driver turned author Han Han, Nobel Laureate Mo Yan and journalist Chai Jing topped the list, which looked at sales of Chinese language books published in the last five years.

"On World Book Day, it's important to recognize that Chinese authors are getting increasing recognition for their work internationally," commented Mr. Tao Shi, Jingdong's VP of Retail and Overseas Markets, who oversees JD.com Global. "The demand among Chinese people living abroad for the excellent writing of Chinese authors like Han Han, Mo Yan and Chai Jing is a clear indication of their desire to keep up with modern Chinese culture."
